Wheels and Waves Preview

What not to miss...

What are the two most exhilarating ways to travel on earth? We think it’s surfing and motorcycling. Whether it’s riding the waves or roads, Wheels and Waves pairs the two as part of an irresistible blend. This weekend marks the fifth W&W gathering, and it’s already cemented itself as a must-visit for anyone with a love of custom motorcycles, surfing or simply a chilled-out weekend by the sea. Cruise down to Biarritz to see…

Flat Track El Rollo

Held on the famous Lasarte’s racecourse, this classic flat track event will see customised machinery turning left, opening the throttle wide and spraying dirt into the air.

Punk’s Peak

A hill climb with outrageous cafe racers, stripped-back bobbers, over-the-top cruisers, 50cc lightweights and everything in-between – a quick sprint through beautiful scenery.

Surf and Skate

In contrast to the exhaust notes and tyre smoke, there are both surf and skate contests happening over the course of the event. This year includes a bellyboarding event (on traditional wooden boards), a daily contest open for all. For The Ride has teamed up with Huck Magazine for this year’s event who will be interviewing John Isaac, creator of these beautiful wooden bellyboards.

New films including Surfers’ Blood, Sugar & Spade and Wassup Rockers will be shown at the event. As expected, music, motorcycles and surfing lifestyles are the subjects – a chance to kick back after a day’s ride to watch what others in the scene are up to.
