I’m a biker through and through. The best times of my life have been in the saddle.
I’ve always owned custom bikes and built my own bobber, but I’ve hankered after an adventure bike for the last 10 years or so.
I pretty much knew the bike I wanted, but checking it out one last time I wasn’t impressed. So my buddy Dave took me to see the new Triumph motorcycles. He showed me the Tiger 800 and the Explorer XC. I was sold. Within two days, I was pulling out with my brand-new Explorer!

Man oh man. Like I said before, I’ve owned just about every brand of motorcycle, but this was different. I’ve never had a Triumph and was blown away by the technology and smoothness of this bike.
Within the first couple of days, I was off road racing through the mud and sand! I’m no big guy, so have been getting used to the size and power. But I can’t wait to take the Explorer on a 20-state tour over three weeks from my base in Southern Florida – heading from home to Oregon via the Trans American trails.
I just ordered some panniers and am almost ready to go. I’ve done a couple of trial runs to North Carolina and Texas and must say this is one of the top motorcycles I’ve ever owned. The power, smoothness and handling are simply incredible.
I’m already looking at the Daytona… but don’t tell my old lady.
