For the youngest person to ever circle the planet, joining a rally from the toe of England to the peak of Scotland might have been an anti-climax. Not a bit of it.
The veteran of 32,000 miles on his 2008 Triumph Bonneville joined the Great Malle Rally 2019 and admits: “I never realised you could have so much fun in your own backyard”.
Kane joined scores of other riders on beautiful, tiny roads from Cornwall’s Lizard Point through Wales and up into the Lake District before arriving in “magical, mystical” Scotland.
He says: “Besides the Himalayas, there’s nothing quite like the UK for motorcycling in terms of mountains, green valleys, fairytale castles, lakes, lochs and passes. It reminded me that adventure’s right there on your doorstep even if you only have a few days.”
