An iconic motorcycle-friendly destination in the north island, this is the place for great fish and chips, and a trip down memory lane.

The walls of this retro joint are adorned with decades of memorabilia about generations of settlers in the area.

It’s a great place for the whole family, with scores of bikes usually parked up outside, especially at the weekend.

First good pitstop on the Alaska Highway around 300 miles after Anchorage and close to the Tanana Valley State Forest.

Almost every rider heading in or out of Alaska via Anchorage will stop here… and if it’s seafood they’re after, they’ll be in seventh heaven.

It’s right on the main route connecting the States with Alaska, so there’s no missing it. Deep-fried halibut is a speciality, but they also specialise in deep-fried mushrooms and huge sandwiches.

A small, rural hotel and restaurant in an undiscovered whitewashed village close to some of the best riding routes in Spain.

Owners David Nuyen, originally from New York, and chef Iván Pascual relocated here from London in 2004 to fulfil a dream of running their own business.

The restaurant, La Bodega del Bandolero, offers Spanish-mountain-country cuisine while the bar, El Bar de El Tempranillo, has homemade tapas.

It’s midway between Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras, the mountains around Ronda, making it the perfect stop-off.

Find this little bit of heaven on the Road of 1864 bends in north west Thailand around 45 minutes ride from the Myanmar border.

Need a shelter from the sun or just want to escape the Pacific Coast Highway’s tourist crowds? The Gasolina Cafe on the 101 north west of Los Angeles is certainly worth a quick detour.

Packed full of riding memorabilia with an old gas station vibe, it’s the first solo venture of chef/owner Sandra Cordero and her Hollywood actor husband John Hensley .
