Triumph and GORE-TEX: a perfect fit

The obsessive pursuit of perfection through passion and innovation has brought Triumph together with one of the world’s leading adventure clothing brands.

An exclusive new partnership with GORE-TEX will offer riders a choice of jackets, jeans and gloves, all designed to perfectly complement the new Tiger 800 and 1200 bikes.

Intuitive collaboration

It’s an “intuitive” and natural collaboration for two brands that hold quality, performance and innovation as their core values, says Miriam Moran, GORE-TEX Head of Fabrics Sales and Marketing.

“Innovation is in our DNA and we continuously create innovative products for consumers to experience more by partnering with brands like Triumph that have an innovative approach to design and performance,” she says.

The crossover between sport clothing and fashion is becoming increasingly important

Triumph is the only motorcycle brand licensed by GORE-TEX for a reason, adds Miriam: “It’s a premium UK brand with great heritage and industry credibility and has a unique and distinctive appeal as a lifestyle brand. This is another aspect why we are happy to partner Triumph to embrace that trend in the motorsports clothing arena.

“The crossover between sport clothing and fashion is becoming increasingly important and together we are working to embrace this new trend across different products.”

Just like the 200 new upgrades to the Tiger 800’s chassis and engine, GORE-TEX engineers never falter in their dedication to exploring new technologies to improve their products and, as a result, the ride.

Get the most from every ride

The Triumph products engineered with GORE-TEX® product technology constantly help keep your body between the sweating and shivering thresholds which are common to motorcycle riders through exertion or climate conditions. They protect the rider against exposure to the elements and regulate the moisture balance within the body making them the perfect choice for any adventure.

Miriam says: “Like every Triumph that leaves the factory, our products are tested extensively and designed with quality, fit, comfort and feel in mind. We are proud that Triumph has chosen Gore-Tex to enhance its garment technology and functionality.”

The GORE-TEX technology featured in the new Triumph Malvern jacket, jeans and gloves, Brecon jacket, jeans and gloves, Snowdon jacket and jeans and Peak gloves is designed to make riders both feel and look good and comfortable.

A Triumph spokesman said: “These products will constantly help keep your body between the sweating and shivering thresholds  common to motorcycle riders through exertion or climate conditions. They protect the rider against exposure to the elements and regulate the moisture balance within the body, making them the perfect choice for any adventure.”

Uncompromising quality control

For the science buffs, the 2018 Adventure collection boasts an extremely thin membrane bonded between a high-performance lining and durable textile materials which are then treated with a coating of DWR – durable water repellent polymer – that beads water and prevents it soaking in to the fabric.

The combination of the membrane, DWR, and support materials makes the fabric waterproof, windproof and breathable in the harshest of conditions while the built-in D3o offers Triumph riders market leading impact protection without compromising flexibility.

Miriam explains: “We pride ourselves on the quality of the garments made from our laminates. To ensure that every metre of GORE-TEX® fabric performs to expectations we have a very comprehensive and uncompromising quality control from raw materials through to the finished product… again just like Triumph.

“As a result the rider can fully rely on the highest quality. We are the only ingredient brand which underwrites the performance of the finished garment by offering a Guaranteed to Keep You Dry(TM) promise for the useful lifetime of the products. This approach to quality control matches Triumph’s business approach.”

The Triumph Adventure range includes:

Malvern jacket and jeans – a men’s three-layer strengthened GORE-TEX PRO fabric with full D3o Armour protection and removable shoulder, elbow and back protectors.

Brecon jacket and jeans – Men’s lightweight outer jacket with protectors and water repellent zipper pockets
